My name is Maya Horikawa, and I have many passions.
For most of my life I have been a classical violinist. I received my BA and Masters Degree from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium and have performed in concert halls all over the world. I enjoy composing music and hope to one day record them.
I also create my own fashion designs, usually inspired by Nature. My most recent creation was this "Autumn Leaves" dress that popped into my head as I took a stroll one day in the park. Golden, crisp leaves floated through the air and the dress was born.
These Sunflower boots were formally plain white shoes by Charles Jourdan. Inspired by the beauty of Sunflower fields I decided to capture the moment by painting them all over my shoes.
In 2009 I created a hat made completely of natural elements for the International Flower Arrangement Event Competition ( FLEUR CREATIF) Splendeurs florales royales in Alden Biesen, Belgium. I was awarded 3rd prize and featured in the November 2009 issue of, 'Jardins & Loisirs'.
Currently as a fashion stylist under KeatonRow click above to work with me.
The following oil painting is of my violin which was a gift to me by my Grandfather. It represents a time in my life, when I just moved to Germany and begun my studies at the Conservatory. The colors and brush strokes, represent my youth and freshness towards life.
Currently, I am working on a series of paintings and hope to one day to have my own live exhibition.
