Blogmas Day 14: Nail DIY "Presents"

Merry Presents Day!

When I was a kid, I remember, the excitement of spotting a new present under the tree. I would shake it, peek into gaps, and play mindless guessing games. As I look back now, I wonder what was more exciting, the anticipation of "what it could be", verses the actual present.
Today's Nail DIY is in celebration of presents, not as objects, but by the mystery and excitement they bring. This year, before ripping, and shredding the gift wrap, take a moment to appreciate the excitement of the unknown.

What you will need:
1. silver nail polish
2. 5 different color nail polish (optional)
3. a toothpick
4. plastic bag
5. scissors

Step 1:
Paint all nails silver, and let dry.

Step 2:
Paint each nail a different color, while leaving a border of silver nail polish exposed. Let dry.

Step 3: Take your tooth pick and cut the pointed tip off.
Step 4: Take your silver polish and dab two drops on your plastic bag.
Step 5: Take your tooth pick and make a cross (+) on all nails.
Step 6: Finally, draw a bow in the enter of each nail. This can be done by two large dots plus two tiny      flicks.

Voila!

How to Do a 3D Autumn Nail

3D Autumnal Nail was inspired by the final burst of colors you see in the last half of Fall. The leaves are now bursting into all colors of the rainbow, and soon they will fall to the ground and dry into crushable memories.
See how I achieved this look.

                            MY GO TO AUTUMN NAIL

During the Autumn months I love to wear a nail color that is warm and soft. Currently, my favorite is called, "Copper Wire". It is a beautiful, warm, rose tone, with a hint of copper flecks. The color seen from the outside of the nail polish is very copper brown, but when worn it has gorgeous reddish mauve undertone.

                                     COPPER WIRE

                               NAIL POLISHES USED

                                    THE PROCESS

Basically, all you will need is a tooth pick, and some type of plastic surface that can be thrown away. I used a zip lock bag, but you can use whatever you may have. One useful tip would be to dab a small amount of color that you want to use, one at a time. If you dab all the colors like I did above, it will dry rather quickly and be unusable.

                                     STRATEGIZE

I know it is just nail art, but having a strategy or mental plan is a good way to prevent a huge mess. I knew I wanted the effect of colorful leaves falling, so I made sure to place most of the dots near the tips. I also added the darkest shade to the tips creating the effect of an ombre effect.

                                   3D Nail Effect

The effect of dabbing various colors of nail polish to the nails with nail polish creates one dimension. I then apply a gold glitter in various spots creating another dimension. As a final top coat I added a green glitter nail polish all over each nail. Tip: Picking glitter of different sizes will add a more clear 3D effect.

                                   Final Look

The final look is festive and fun. It represents the burst of colors happening in the final half of this Autumnal Season! Enjoy.

1. Pick 3 Nail polish colors that you desire.
Use one color for your accent nail, and another color for the remaining 4 nails.

2.)Use two paper ring stickers and place as the picture shows.

3.) Take your third color, or the color you have not used yet, to paint the area that is not covered by the stickers.

4.) Check the photo to be sure it looks similar to this.

5.) Repeat step 2 but be sure to place stickers a bit lower.

6.) Paint the last color and you are finished.

Festive Nail Collection

Hi Ladies! I recently received a early holiday gift, and decided to write a mini product review. A collection by KLEANCOLOR, Nail Lacquer, and I have to admit, it is fantastic. I normally cannot stand nail polish and you will normally never see me take any risks when it comes to my nails.Clean, clear, and well groomed but hardly ever colored. However, this collection has given me a change of heart. Nothing makes me more excited for the holidays than this sparkly collection. A perfect gift to give to another fashionista, or as a special treat for yourself to jump into the the holiday spirit. Today I am wearing "Kiss Goodbye". It is a combination of saphire, ruby, and emerald glitter and it has the most amazing consistency on your nails. It shimmers in the light, reminiscent to christmas tree lights. The collection includes 6 mini colors. Grey, is named "Black out", and it contains black and silver glitter with octagonal shaped silver confetti. It reminds me of snowflakes I use to see when I would go to Christmas Markets sipping warm gluwein. Silver named "Grand Finale", is clear, with metalic confetti that is exactly like what you see shooting out on New Years Eve. Gold: named 24 Carat is a clear polish with gold glitter, and gold diamond shaped gold confetti. ( My New years nails will definitley be a mixture of "Grand Finale" and "24 Carat") Green is named "peaceful heart", and it is a clear polish with green glitter, and emerald blue hearts. Red is named "VIP", and is a clear polish with red glitter. Burgundy- Purple is named "Goodbye Kiss" is a clear polish containing a mixture of ruby, emerald, and saphire glitter.
