Summary:
TALKFASHION TV explores the fashionable emotions of the recent results of the 2016 Presidential election. How would one dress in a Trump World?

3 OUTFITS:

1) "The Trump Optimist"
A golden wonder. The coat is hand embroidered, vintage and made in Sweden.
The gold evening dress is by ABS, Allen Schwartz. The jewelry is by vintage Cadou. Hair accessories are from Zara.

2.) "The Clinton Pessimist"
A black ensemble of disappointment. The jacket and evening dress is by TADASHI. Shoes are by Ferragamo, and hair accessory is from an unknown source in Paris.

3.) "I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag..."
Is a patriotic style in a rather casual style. The jean jacket is by Tommy Hilfiger, and the jeans are by Levis. The casual shirt is by Free people, and the American Flag scarf has an unknown designer.

Obon is a beautiful custom celebrated in Japan, and by far my favorite moment of the Summer season. It is a time of remembrance, soul, togetherness, and love. The moment is reflective, personal, and a time to observe one's own life meaning.
There are so many things in life that give you instant satisfaction, and enjoyment. However, it is in the moments that touch your heart, that make you realize how precious life really is. We are infinitely connected to our past, and all the decisions of today, are processing our tomorrow.

I hope you like my short film based on how I style from the soul.

PART 3: The Awakening!

Scene 1:
Rushing back to her apartment, she sits down in front of her vanity, for one last glance at her impeccable reflection. She begins removing her scarf around her neck, and remembering her magical night. The moment is bitter sweet, because she knows everything has come to a dreadful end, and the moment of her life is behind her.
When she finally glances up to her mirror, expecting to see her face lit up by her diamond necklace, she is faced with a completely bare neck! Completely shocked and seeing black, blood rushes to her brain, and her heart starts pumping erratically.

Scene 2:
Ten years pass, and having aged immensely from the stress and hard labor, she is unrecognizable. Spending most depressing days stressed by debt, she has glimpses of that magical night of perfection.

Then, one rainy day, she bumps into her old friend who had lent her the diamond necklace. Having changed so much, she no longer recognized her. She then decides to tell her the entire truth, and admits to losing the diamond necklace and then replacing it with a similar one. The debt from that purchase took her 10 years to pay off, and resulted in the destruction of her life.
Astonished by this news, her friend abruptly stops her and explains the necklace was a FAKE!

PART 1: The Invitation!

Unhappy with her life, she dreams of the day she can be part of the glamorous world of decadence. One day, she gets her chance, and is invited to a Royal Ball. Although she is initially elated, she is quickly filled with feelings of inadequacy and shame.
What would she wear? Nothing she owned would be good enough, and everyone would laugh at her.
Her husband then agrees to buying her a new dress, but is confronted with a new problem regarding jewelry. How could she possibly go to a formal event without jewelry?
She then remembers a dear friend who owns a large collection of elaborate jewels and decides to borrow one from her.

Cinderella with a French Twist?

"For you know that I myself am a labyrinth, where one easily gets lost"

The story of Cinderella, or Cendrillon was first published by Charles Perrault in 1697, in the Histoires ou contes du temps passé.  As an iconic children's classic, it has cemented its place in the hearts of little children everywhere.  (Obviously, such a fashionable fairytale would have French origins!)

Why is this particular story line,  so timeless, and relatable to the hearts of all? Do we all share feelings of inadequacy and unjust oppression, that never seems rewarded?

 Do we hope for that magic moment, when someone will come to the rescue, and bare gifts of beautiful clothes, furniture, a castle, and love? 

Now imagine its happy ending was twisted, resulting in regretful consequences caused by disillusionment. What would you do?

Cinderella, is a magical story of self adoration, but lacking in any real life lessons. If you were to take this classic, give it a cheeky french twist, you would have short story,

"The Necklace" (La Parure), by Guy de Maupassant.

"The Necklace", published nearly 200 years after Cinderella, in 1884, was written by French writer, Guy de Maupassant. Famous for his twist endings, and use of irony, he took general themes of Cinderella, and questioned the concept of "happily ever after".

Inspired by this very fashionable story, I have created my very first Silent Film.
