Fall Daily: Designing with a Children's Toy?

It's always around this time of year, that knitting becomes a bit of an obsession of mine. There is something rather therapeutic about repetitive motions of needling soft yarn through my fingers while sipping a cup of hot tea.
Currently, I discovered this children's toy that I purchased several years ago in Brussels. It creates a rope type effect, with selected yarn and currently my guilty pleasure.
Ironically, my mom saw my toy and informed me that she also played with a similar toy when she was a child. It made me laugh, because here I thought it was new, and yet again, I have realized I was born in the wrong generation.

Inspiring several accessories of my winter collection, here is one I recently finished. It is a black and gold, chain necklace adorned by two vintage pins, and currently my favorite.

Currently I am working on this varying shade of moss green, and feeling rather inspired to adding some beading details.

Will keep you posted!

Who is Krikor Jabotian!?

It is unbelievable to me, that I am just discovering this amazing designer, and more celebrities do not flock to him to wear his amazing creations! Every couture gown so intricately adorned, and utterly feminine. I have completely fallen in love with all his creations, and have decided to showcase his work in today's post.

Who is Krikor Jabotian?

Krikor Jabotian is a Lebanese-Armenian designer who graduated from L'Ecole Superieure des Arts et de la Mode in Beirut. He began his career working for the famed house of Elie Saab. He soon branched out independently and was supported by, Starch foundation, to debut his first collection under his own name.
After the success of his first collection, at the ripe age of 23 he set up his own atelier.

Giorgio Armani Spring Collection 2014

Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2014 is Magnificent! From hair, make up, jewels, and handbags, the entire collection is dreamy, magical, and from another world.

His usage of soft pastels, with a tint of grey undertones, give a mysterious quality of a midsummer night. The glistening bejeweled clutch adds the right amount of glamour and sparkle, to keep your eye transfixed.
Perhaps, one of my favorite pieces to his collections are the beaded chiffon pieces. I especially look forward to adding this to my own collection, and wearing it in the day with a casual tee and jeans. Smoke my eye out at night and wear it with a simple LBD.

Armani's usage of amazing textiles, and shapes are reminiscent to water. This cute little, waist pinching cardigan, can be worn with practically everything.

Moonlight Blue. His collection has the most beautiful usage of cobalt and cerulean blue. It made me imagine a beautiful lake glistening under the moonlight. Magical.

Accessories, included plastic like bangles that reflect light. Purses, are of different types of leather, mostly clutches.

Most of the models wore these big, bold, circular blue earrings, with matching blue sandals.

Notice the detail in his collection. From the carefully beaded chiffon skirt to the clutch adorned with crystal rhinestones.

The wavy water effect is again noticeable, and provides a cool, harmonious effect to a rather bold color.

Armani has perfectly captured the beautiful effects of sparkling water. A magical dress, with intricate bead work, providing bursts of sparkling light with every step.

BRAVO! A unbelievable collection that has grabbed my heart and given me new inspiration!
LOVE!

Christian Louboutin Moves into My Old Home?!

Christian Louboutin in Brussels, Belgium?!

For those of you who may not know, I spent almost 8 years in Brussels, living right on Grote Zavel, or Grand Sablon, which is now the home of the coveted LOUBOUTIN! The shop is literally on the same street as my old flat, and about 5 seconds to walk!

If this is not salt on a wound, I don't know what is. My only bitter joy comes from the fact that it is literally  impossible to wear gorgeous Louboutins or any slender heel for that matter in Brussels. Most roads are cobblestone and any designer shoe is destined to death along these unstable walking grounds.
I once wore a pair of brand new burgundy MIU MIU a long Sablon, and the heel immediately got stuck and just fell off. You really must have a thick heel when in Europe, but Louboutin's finest are usually sleek, slender, and very high. It also rains all the time, and has ruined a half a dozen of my priciest suede/ leather shoes.

Obviously, I am just making excuses, and I am madly jealous. If you live around Belgium, or Brussels, check out this amazing shop, and perhaps leave your credit cards at home. You really can catch a bad case of shoe brain and do some serious damage.

My Fashion Handbag Design: "The Marilyn"

"Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend"

"The Marilyn", is a bag I have designed and created inspired by legendary Icon, and infamous "IT" girl, Marilyn Monroe. Hints of hot pink are used in the lining, reminiscent of her fabulous hot pink ball gown. The very finest crystal elements are used to celebrate the scene in her musical number where she is draped in diamonds. The outer lining is made of black velvet, and buckle is trimmed in fur. The strap is adorned with a circular diamond and lined on the inside with lace.

"The Marilyn", is a fun flirty bag I have created to embody the sex appeal of iconic Marilyn Monroe.
It is a bag meant to be worn for all occasions. Whether it be jeans and a t-shirt or, a sexy Black Herve Leger, wear it with confidence and charm. After all who needs men when you have diamonds?
