Blogmas Day 1: "Frosty the Snowman" Nail Tutorial!

Blogmas Day 1:

Holiday nails are the perfect way to jumpstart your mood and start feeling festive! Todays tutorial is so quick and easy, you will be amazed at how quickly you can start feeling festive. Inspired largely by "Frosty the Snowman", this is my take on a more mature way to mask a childlike spirit.

All you will need is:
-black nail polish
-white nail polish
-frosted white, glitter nail polish
-nail dot making tool

Step 1:
Paint all your nails with a frosted clear nail lacquer. I used Sally Hansens, "Crystalline" 02.

Step 2.
Use your dotting tool or a tooth pick to paint little white dots all over the crystalized lacquer.

Step 3.
Use your tooth pick of nail dotting tool to pain a small snowman on one finger.

Voila!  You are finished.

Enjoy!

Blogmas Day 18: "Christmas Lights" Nail DIY

Today's Nail DIY is inspired by my favorite little Christmas tree. It is basically a French Manicure injected with a tiny bit of Christmas spice. I find this look very easy to wear, as it is mostly neutral. It adds just the right amount of festive cheer, while maintaining sophistication, and charm. Best of all, it is very easy.

Step 1: Use a neutral nail color. My favorite is by collistar, 47 madreperla. It is literally my favorite color in the world. It is a neutral gloss with a pink under sheen, and pearl essence tint.

You will then need a collection of nail polishes in vibrant colors. Silver is a nice one to add for its sparkling effect.
You will also need a toothpick, plastic bag, and scissors.

Along the tips of the nail, dab tiny dots of nail polish in random order as you like.

Voila! :)
Enjoy your festive nail.

I also played with variations on dabbing the various colors. This look is more playful and fun.

Blogmas Day 12: Easy Holiday Nail

This Holiday Nail Idea is so quick and easy it doesn't even need directions.
All you will need is two nail colors of your choice. My personal favorite is, one gem tone offset by a sparkly silver. It is a nice contrast between fire and ice, and gives off a festive contradiction.

Step 1: Paint entire nail with silver nail polish, and let dry.
Step 2: Paint (2nd Nail polish gem tone) over the silver one while leaving a silver border. Let dry.
Step 3: Finish off with too coat.

How to Do a 3D Autumn Nail

3D Autumnal Nail was inspired by the final burst of colors you see in the last half of Fall. The leaves are now bursting into all colors of the rainbow, and soon they will fall to the ground and dry into crushable memories.
See how I achieved this look.

                            MY GO TO AUTUMN NAIL

During the Autumn months I love to wear a nail color that is warm and soft. Currently, my favorite is called, "Copper Wire". It is a beautiful, warm, rose tone, with a hint of copper flecks. The color seen from the outside of the nail polish is very copper brown, but when worn it has gorgeous reddish mauve undertone.

                                     COPPER WIRE

                               NAIL POLISHES USED

                                    THE PROCESS

Basically, all you will need is a tooth pick, and some type of plastic surface that can be thrown away. I used a zip lock bag, but you can use whatever you may have. One useful tip would be to dab a small amount of color that you want to use, one at a time. If you dab all the colors like I did above, it will dry rather quickly and be unusable.

                                     STRATEGIZE

I know it is just nail art, but having a strategy or mental plan is a good way to prevent a huge mess. I knew I wanted the effect of colorful leaves falling, so I made sure to place most of the dots near the tips. I also added the darkest shade to the tips creating the effect of an ombre effect.

                                   3D Nail Effect

The effect of dabbing various colors of nail polish to the nails with nail polish creates one dimension. I then apply a gold glitter in various spots creating another dimension. As a final top coat I added a green glitter nail polish all over each nail. Tip: Picking glitter of different sizes will add a more clear 3D effect.

                                   Final Look

The final look is festive and fun. It represents the burst of colors happening in the final half of this Autumnal Season! Enjoy.
