Glasses Shop Review: Snow White?
One of my favorite fairytales as a child was Snow White. Out of all the princesses, I identified with her most, because she had the blackest hair in the land, and skin as white as snow.
Although, I may not have the blackest hair in the land, no skin like snow, these burgundy eyeglasses instantly made me feel like my inner Snow White was born.
I know it may sound like I am trying to pitch you a line by saying I feel more beautiful in these lenses, but honestly, I am over joyed at how it makes my skin look so much brighter, and my lips a deeper red.
I also loved pairing these glasses with a full, formal ball gown and feeling like an unconventional princess.
Beatrice Wayfarer - Burgundy
Beatrice Wayfarer Burgundy
I was attracted to this pair for its color, shape, and accents of gold. Although, I would most likely put off wearing this color until Autumn/Winter, I know when the colder seasons roll by, they will be a versatile accessory choice.
Quality Check?
Quality is parallel to price point, and therefore not a luxury product. The biggest disappointment was found in the cases sent with each pair. Your glasses will arrive in a clear plastic container similar to a pencil case, with a bright green cleaning cloth. I would recommend swapping the plastic case with a hard case, to avoid crushing them.
Overall, they are a fun brand to mix and match your style with but not a lifetime investment.
Would I personally purchase a pair of my own? I never say never, but most likely not.

What is Re-FASHION?
In the spirit of Earth Day, lets discuss 'Re-Fashion".
Re-Fashion is the act of connecting your fashion style to coexist with your surroundings. Making clothing choices that are not only sustainable but empathetic and aware of the power you hold. What you choose to wear is not a static choice, but a small part in a series of domino effects that change the course of our future.
The Golden 3:
Reduce, Re-use, Recyle
Reduce what you buy. Please do not misunderstand this word for reduce what you have in your closet. Much too often, people get rid of their clothes as soon as they buy them. Creating this careless attitude of buying more, paying less, and creating more human waste. Change your shopping habits and invest in key pieces that are made of good quality. Collect items invisioning a lifetime. They should be able to grow and evolve with you.
Re-use and be inspired. Learn to appreciate the value of quality items that can be re-used. Whether it be swapping clothes with friends, rummaging through your grandma's closet, or shopping at a local thrift or vintage shops. Explore the creativity attached to timeless pieces.
Recycle. Lets get creative. Oh yes, DIY should always be the last step injected before tossing any fashion piece into the trash. Take your lifeless garment and REVIVE it back for a second life.
For example, one of my favorite cashmere sweater had several holes near the bottom. Did I throw it away? Not at all, I cut the parts with a hole, and turned it into a fantastic crop top sweater!

The Heart of Fashion: Fashion Revolution Week
It is so easy to be swept up by the glamour and allure of fashion, but from my heart to yours, lets take a moment to think about the cause and effect of all our fashion choices. Whether it be reckless shopping habits, or demand for lower prices, what effects do our choices create?
"Buy less, choose well, make it last." -Vivienne Westwood
On April 24, 2013, the Rana Plaza complex collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh, killing 1,134 people and injured over 2,500. Considered as the deadliest garment factory accident in history, it was reported that building owners ignored structural warnings and forced workers to return to work.
Fashion Revolution Week was born as an awareness on the backstory of fashion. Fashion can and should be made ethically, but this is directly linked to the behaviors of the consumer.
The safety, well being, proper pay and health standards of all workers are also accessories we wear. The deaths and negligence caused by the brands we support, is blood on our sleeves, if we choose to ignore it.
"Clothes aren't going to change the world. The women who wear them will." -Anne Klein
Fashion Revolutions Week is based on the idea of bringing people from all over the world together, to ask one single question.
#WHOMADEMYCLOTHES
Join the Revolution by snapping a photo of a label on one of your clothes and ask the brand #whomademyclothes and post it via instagram, Facebook, or twitter. Show them people do care.
Be curious. Be responsible and take responsibility for the choices you make. The power starts with YOU asking the right questions.

Maya
