Fall Daily Essential: Scarf Obsession!

A scarf is the focal point of your entire outfit, and it defines the mood of your Fall style. What is your scarf saying about you?
One of the most popular mistakes people make, is buying a scarf without considering how you will wear it.  A scarf is just as much functional as fashionable, and therefore, careful calculations are necessary.
Will your Fall coat match? Is it warm enough? It is versatile in function? Does the color compliment your face?
Many times people just pick a scarf they like without even trying it on, but this is not to your benefit at all. You may adore emerald green, but the question is, does it compliment you? Check it against your skin tone, hair or eye color, and see if it suits you.

These are my 5 Favorite types of scarves!

                                      ARTSY PATTERNS

A scarf is a brilliant way to add character to a rather orthodox outfit. Use it to add a pop of color, texture, or a bit of character.  Make a statement, and never be forgotten.

                                         BLANKET SCARF

A blanket scarf is "cozy" at its max. It is a relaxed casual that looks chic without trying.
It is sure to keep you warm on the coldest days, and best of all, you can cuddle up with it all day.

                                        CASHMERE LOVE

The look of a cashmere scarf is always luxurious and decadent. It is as soft as can be, and it frames your face with such warmth and softness. The perfect scarf for those days you just want to relax and unwind.

                                       LONG KNIT SCARF

Those long wrap around knit scarves are a fun way to add texture to your fall look. The different lengths around the length add interest to the eye, and creates a casual fun look.

                                             FUR SCARF

A fur scarf, is a glamorous way to add spice to your style. It is soft to the touch and beautiful to see. Just having it near your neck,  it is sure to light up your face and keep you warm.

Fall Daily: Art Of Layering Your Fall Outfits

Layers, layers and more layers!
Mastering your Fall style means grasping the Art of Layering. An outfit is only a complete idea, when all layers work together harmoniously. The more layers you have, the more strategic you must be. During Fall Style, shape, form, color, and textures are all factors that should be considered, and of course, staying warm!

Here are my top 3 tips on layering Fall Style:

1.) Organized Chaos
When you layer, always consider all your layers as equally important.  Most people only consider the inner-most layer as the most significant. From there we all mindlessly pile on sweaters, scarves, and a jacket. However, clothing layers are more like chapters in a book, and should always work in complete harmony. An idea should always be complete from beginning to end.

2.) Light vs. Thick
One of the biggest misconceptions about colder weather, is the need to only wear thick fabrics. Lighter chiffons, and silks which provide very little warmth, can be beautifully paired with chunkier sweaters and dresses. It is a stylish way to add a pop of color or shine, without the bulk.

3.) Texture Game
Style should always have a playful side, and layering with unexpected textures stimulate the eye. If you are wearing a simple jean, with a cuddly cashmere top, consider layering with a third or fourth texture. Try adding a fur vest, a colorful blanket scarf, or some statement jewelry. Layers are all about adding something new, and spicing up the "normal". Kick it up a notch guys!

4.) Color Scheme
If you have many layers, picking a color scheme will help you immensely. For example, if you pick a color scheme of white and black, each layer can consist of different materials and textures but the color scheme will pull it inti ine cohesive look.

Enjoy!

How do I Tie My Scarf?

Scarf Season has arrived! Here are 12 interesting ways to style your scarf this Fall! Enjoy. :) xx -M 1.) Wrap and Tuck. This Scarf style has the same effect as a man's necktie. It is a perfect style to use when sporting jeans, and sweater. 2.)Butterfly. This elegant look is perfect for those scarfs with a different color from front to back. Would look amazing with a tight black turtle neck and black pencil skirt. 3.) Wrap around. A loose, relaxed way to wear your scarf. Perfectly with flowy outfits. 4.) Necklace Scarf. The easiest way to add style and glamour to a scarf is looping it into a necklace. Try this look on your evenings out. 5.)Standard. This unstyled way is perfect for those outfits that dont want to be fussy but just need a punch of color or textures. 6.)Bow it. A super quirky cute way to add charm to your look. It is especially adorable, with pleated short skirts, peplum tops. 7.) Vest like. Simply drape your heavier scarfs around your neck, and belt your waste and voila, you get the effect of a sweater vest. 8.)Sexy top. This will need a bigger scarf shaped as a Square. Tie behind your neck, and wrap around your waste. 9.)Knot. Simply knotting the end is cute and practical. It prevents your scarf from flying away and still adds a nice texture to your look. 10.)Braided. This scarf style is like an inverted braid. Wrap around your neck, take the two sides and tuck one over the other through the loop. 11.) Belt. Why limit belts as the only way to show off your waste? 12.) Loop and pull. This is perhaps the most popular way to wear scarve. simply take the side with loop and tuck in the ends.

Scarf Love for Fall!

The summer months have ended and Fall has arrived. The go to fashion accessory for Fall 2013 is a scarf. You can tie it in a bow, wrap it around, or let it hang lose. Whatever you do it is the perfect touch to transition your summer ways to chilly Fall months.
How do you find the perfect Fall scarf? Well, first consider your climate. How cold does it get? If you live in California like I do, I would suggest a light silk scarf with warm earthy tones. If you live in a colder climate, buy a thicker material but not too bulky. Remember the scarf is used as an accessory to enhance your outfit.  If you always wear black opt for a pop of color in your scarf. If you usually wear color, then perhaps opt for black or nude. Enjoy. xx
