#NYFW : DELPOZO SS2017 (FT Joaquín Sorolla and Soo Sunny Park)

DELPOZO SS2017 is a collection that envelops you into a bubble of light, shapes and movement. 

There is a nostalgic feeling of tradition that runs through the blood of Delpozo, and yet there is also an undeniable pull towards the contemporary. The mind remains fresh, stable, and invigorated. 

  Creative Director, Joseph Font displays inspiration by the works of Contemporary Artist, Soo Sunny Park, and Spanish Impressionist,  Joaquin Sorolla, in his SS 2017 Collection.

Britain Museum of American Art

The creations of contemporary art that is then inspired into the fashions of Delpozo, leave the viewers breathless and awe struck. 

Boundary Conditions, 2014 is displayed at the New Britain Museum of American Art. It is a geometric wonder that displays the capricious characters of light itself. Contrasting the painting of pigment verses the painting of light, the artwork changes constantly throughout the day.

Delpoza accessories strongly resemble the Soo Young Park's 2013 creation of Unwoven Light. 

Iridescent bags, earrings and shoes evoke the power of refraction. 

Viewing such changeable factors in a light exhibition, one contemplates the relationship of ephemeral fashion verses the nature of light itself.

Unwoven Light, is featured at Rice Gallery and experiments with the character of man made light verses natural light. Manipulating light that remains constant and adding the element of natural light, creates an art piece that reveals who it really is on multiple levels.

Inspired by Spanish impressionist, Joaquin Sorolla, Joseph Font beautifully structured white dresses embody the essence of Sorolla's infamous seaside paintings filled with light. 

 Depolzo's white dresses capture the beauty of sun-bleached sundresses and  gravity defying silhouettes. 

One can almost feel, smell, and hear the seaside.

Introducing Lisa Marie Jewelry: Interview with Lisa Rough

It is not often a jewelry brand gets me excited enough to request an interview with the designer; however, after discovering this beautiful turquoise pendant (above photo) from Lisa Marie Jewelry, I was curious to find out more. 

I was drawn to this necklace because of the large turquoise stone that spoke to me in a poetic way. If you look carefully you can notice the stone is cracked in the middle, and yet the beauty is somehow preserved by a golden crown that mends the two pieces together. It spoke to my current life situation,  and reminds me that "broken" is beautiful and giving up is never an option.

Lisa Marie Jewelry is created entirely by Orange County based designer, Lisa Rough. As a stay at home mom, she found it as an opportunity to be creative, while making a little extra money on the side. 

Her style is unique, contemporary and classic. You will notice almost all her designs are made of quality natural elements and all by hand. There is an earthy feeling to her collection, with whimsical touches of femininity and spirituality. 

Unlike mass produced factory accessories, there is something fulfilling about wearing jewelry made by a real person. I especially appreciate her "beachy" themes infused with positive messages and charms with words like, "love" or "believe". Her religious and spiritual background can also be spotted in her works.

How to Organize Your Accessories!

Organizing your Accessories is often times the one place we all fall short. Usually they end up in a box, or a drawer, but completely unorganized and usually left unused. Organizing these fashion accessories will be the difference between a complete look or one that always seems it could be a little bit better.

Children's Drawing Easel

You can find them at Garage sales, thrift stores, for very cheap. Simply spray paint them to match your room, and glue on a old picture frame to the board. From there simply add knobs and you are ready to hang your necklaces. Finish off by finding cute shaped boxes and you have the most adorable accessory station.

Vintage Tea cups and Bowls

Collect adorable little cups and bowls and store in drawers, making a very cute and easy way to keep your precious earrings or rings form getting lost.

Frame it!

Find interesting frames in various vintage/ thrift shops, and string lace ribbon to display your fabulous earrings as a piece of art.

Cake it!

Often times you can find adorable items in the baking department. Normally used to display baked goods, they are also adorable ways to show case your jewels. 

Style Tip 6: New Trend: Man's Bowtie!

Hello Darlings! You heard it here first! Bow ties are the next hot thing! Believe it or not, bow chokers have been popular since the 18th century, and why not? Everyone cannot deny the charm of a good bow. It adds immediate feminity to boyish charm. I love to wear them with blazers, and a crisp white shirt. You can also wear them as chokers, with flowy dresses or blouses. The only thing to be careful are the accessories. A bow should not be over styled. Do not add too many accesories, or colors. This could make you come off looking like a clown. If a Bow tie is too much of a leap, try tying a cute little bow around your neck, it can be tight, or lose. I guarantee it will add immediate charm!
