Review: My 2015 Winter Style

This Winter I challenged myself by documenting 15 days of  what I wore. The purpose of the challenge was to approach 2015 with a new attitude and to push my limits of creativity.
Today, I have decided to review this Fashion Challenge and share with you what I learned and currently love from my Winter style.

Currently Loving:
My Wintery color palette finds me loving black, white and grey. I enjoyed the textured patterns of knit fabrics, stripes, embroidery, and pops of color. I normally, am never known to wear black, but this year it seemed to be appropriate to my current mood. Nearly 90% of my Winter style contained partial black elements. During darker days, I found myself craving bursts of color.  Pops of electric blue, turquoise, magenta, and golden oranges can be found in my style.

What I Learned:
How you stand or pose for a picture, greatly effects the proportions of the body. It was a huge wake up call to see how angles can lengthen you or chop you in half.  Knowing where the camera is and how to take a good shot is truly a learning experience.

Currently, what are you guys loving this Winter?

Fashion Challenge Day 12: OOTD "My Heart is French"

Day 12 is still finding myself missing France. For me, French style, is artistic, feminine, elegant, and natural. I can remember walking down whimsical little streets in Paris, and stumbling across the most wonderful boutiques filled with the most beautiful accessories. The women in France, are stylish in their ability to add their own accessories and thus making a look their own. Whether it be a belt, a hat, a hair accessory, style seems to always celebrate their own beauty.

The hair band/hat that I am wearing is from France, and it is adorned with ostrich and peacock feathers. The belt was found in Belgium at Zara. The dress is Tadashi and boots by Valentino.

Blogmas Day 6: Holiday Concert Style

During the Holidays the world is filled with festive cheer, and with that comes a lot of concerts dedicated to fully celebrating that spirit. For my concert style, there are some limitations. In a symphonic orchestra, you must wear all black. Normally throughout the year, this rule can never be broken, but during the holidays I sneak some festive sparkle through my accessories.

The dress is by Tadashi and it is made of silk, and the sleeves and collar are embroidered in beaded stitch work, through delicate lace. The skirt is A-line and originally worn with a tiny black silk bow.

The belt was purchased in London at a popular shop called Accessorize. Although it may look highly luxurious, the price was extremely affordable. It has been a holiday favorite for a couple years now.

Both hair accessories were purchased in Europe from speciality shops. They are my go to hair accessory and I rarely wear any other hair item during the holidays. It's kind of like the modern girl's tiara.

These black silk pumps adorned with crystals is by Ferragamo. They have been part of my collection for years, and always a favorite for any glamorous event.

If the only dress you have is a simple black dress, there is no need in purchasing a pricey new one. Simply invest in beautiful accessories, and instantly transform your rather simple look. My holiday must haves are a burgundy/ red belt, crystal hair accessories, and a sparkly shoe. Have thses three must haves and you will have Fa-la-la Style all through the Holidays.
(My apologies for Blogmas being severely delayed, trying to catch up asap.)
