6 Deadly Fashion Sins

Fashion is all about your identity. Usually, there is very little someone can say about your fashion choices being right or wrong; however, nothing kills fashion faster than these 6 Fashion Sins.

                                      BRAND LABEL OVERLOAD

Labels, labels, labels. Nothing is a fashion turn off quite like an article of clothing that is slapped with a brand label for everyone to see. Yes, it is the quickest way to shout to the world, "This is Expensive", but also the tackiest.
Wearing brands should be for the quality, and high level of artistry not for the excessive showing off of how much money you spent.
Such logos stamped on you, brands you like a walking billboard. Unless you are being sponsored, it really doesn't make much fashion sense.

                             UNDERGARMENT EXPOSURE

Call me old fashion but, undergarments are not meant to be seen. It is extremely distracting and it detracts from you as a person. No matter how on trend you might be, visible panties or bras will always be the first thing you see and the last thing you remember. Fashion will always be lost in a lingerie mix.

                                            GYM CASUAL

"There are no ugly women, just lazy ones."
-Coco Chanel

Recently, I have noticed an epidemic of gym clothes everywhere I go. Either everyone has gone mad for fitness, or they are simply wearing them because they are ultra comfortable, and give you and excuse for not combing your hair or having any make up. Either way, the only time you should be wearing fitness clothes is when you actually go to the gym. Yes, you are not hurting  anyone by being lazy, but it is laziness itself that kills fashion.

                                      MATCHY MATCHY

Matching your outfits as kids is extremely adorable, as adults, not so much. The issue is identity. Fashion is all about your inner identity and being "matchy matchy" with your lover, or best friend forever
shows the world you still have not found your fashion voice.

                              PETS ARE NOT ACCESSORIES

There is no doubt small furry creatures are adorable. However, using them as accessories to complete an outfit, and treating them like "things", is not fashionable. Rather than creating a fashion identity, it becomes more of a "image circus". You are fun to watch, but no one is listening to what you say.

                                         CLOTHING LOVE

Lastly, show your clothes some love. Pay attention to the details. Make sure there are no stains or wrinkles. You can't imagine how much details such as these distract the human eye. A fashion look can be completely ruined by neglecting some simple fashion care.

  1. Great selection, Maya! I also noticed the new trend of wearing the gym shoes, even with the elegant outfits. :-))

    1. Hi Ada!
Yes, I noticed Chanel made some rather beautiful sneakers. Literally beaded in the same fabric as the gowns!

  2. I have too agree with these...even though I might be a little guilty of the gym casual. lol. :) I can't stand it when people have their undergarments hanging out. You end up not even noticing the outfit they're wearing, cause you're like pull your pants up. lol. I love the purple cat. I can see people doing that.

  3. Absolutely agree! I don't think fashion should always be associated with big brands from head to toe. If you can find things that look good on you without having to spend a fortune, why not? :)

  4. You are spot on. I hate seeing so many fashion disasters. Do people not look at themselves from behind?

    1. Hi Emma,

Exactly. It seems as though these people have no idea what everyone else can see. Or let us hope that is the case.

  6. Agh I can't stand stains and wrinkles in my clothes! I think undergarments should be hidden, it's not something we should all be seeing. And I never really match with my sisters or anything. I do wear a lot of fitness clothes - but that's because I do a lot of sport xD When I'm on a tournament holiday or when I am cycling home from training I sometimes won't bother to change. (Unless I've been sweating a bit too much, then I will :P But usually I don't want tight clothes after this.) I hate brand overdosage. I like mixing things up a bit more.
