Fall Daily: Amethyst Inspired Style

Amethyst is a crystalline quartz in shades of purple, lilac or mauve, and lately I have been rather drawn to this mystical color combination. There is texture, light, and emotion in this amazing stone and I cannot help but be effected "stylistically", by its natural beauty.

The word "amethyst", has Greek origin meaning, "without drunkenness". Amethyst  is believed to protect one from poison, and thus help to maintain a "sober" mind. While, Ancient Egyptians used amethyst as protector from guilt, fear, and self deception. With so much chaos in my life, it is no wonder, I am naturally gravitating to this power stone.

Amethyst often known from its healing powers and ability to centralize energy is a gemstone often worn by healers. A healer will usually wear several pieces of jewelry with amethysts set in silver. The person to be healed will have an Amethyst to hold while the healing is being done. The healer will then place another piece of Amethyst on the area of the body in need of healing, the heart or lungs usually.

Amethyst can also improve problems in the blood and lungs. Clusters of these stones are believed to keep the air and life force in the home clean and positive.
The beauty of the natural lines in the stones,  and shades of grey and purple, added by a touch of reflective light, allow much fashionable inspiration.

Like the sun, Amethyst clusters, are very beneficial to healing negative energy in the home and heart. Placing Amethysts in moonlight creates a calmer environment.
Whether you believe in the power of Amethyst or not, you cannot deny the beauty it illuminates.
