Fall Daily: Pumpkin Patch Style!

It's Pumpkin patch time!
To be honest, I normally just buy a pumpkin at the grocery store, but this year I've decided to embrace the entire experience by visiting a real pumpkin patch. There is something quite amazing about seeing pumpkins in their natural habitat, and individually selecting the pumpkin you would like.
My Pumpkin patch style, is inspired by the color scheme of "harvest" colors; orange, burgundy, and brown. My style is casual with a simple sweater and jeans, but also a bit whimsical with a touch of an embroidered flower crown. My shoes are kept flat and appropriate for running through the pumpkin patch.
The entire experience  for me, marks the beginning of Fall, pumpkin pies, apple cider, and cooler nights!
Take these small moments to make the most of beautiful Autumn Days!

Fall Daily: Art Of Layering Your Fall Outfits

Layers, layers and more layers!
Mastering your Fall style means grasping the Art of Layering. An outfit is only a complete idea, when all layers work together harmoniously. The more layers you have, the more strategic you must be. During Fall Style, shape, form, color, and textures are all factors that should be considered, and of course, staying warm!

Here are my top 3 tips on layering Fall Style:

1.) Organized Chaos
When you layer, always consider all your layers as equally important.  Most people only consider the inner-most layer as the most significant. From there we all mindlessly pile on sweaters, scarves, and a jacket. However, clothing layers are more like chapters in a book, and should always work in complete harmony. An idea should always be complete from beginning to end.

2.) Light vs. Thick
One of the biggest misconceptions about colder weather, is the need to only wear thick fabrics. Lighter chiffons, and silks which provide very little warmth, can be beautifully paired with chunkier sweaters and dresses. It is a stylish way to add a pop of color or shine, without the bulk.

3.) Texture Game
Style should always have a playful side, and layering with unexpected textures stimulate the eye. If you are wearing a simple jean, with a cuddly cashmere top, consider layering with a third or fourth texture. Try adding a fur vest, a colorful blanket scarf, or some statement jewelry. Layers are all about adding something new, and spicing up the "normal". Kick it up a notch guys!

4.) Color Scheme
If you have many layers, picking a color scheme will help you immensely. For example, if you pick a color scheme of white and black, each layer can consist of different materials and textures but the color scheme will pull it inti ine cohesive look.

Enjoy!

Fall Daily: Style from Apples?

There is nothing quite like apple picking during Fall. The crisp cool air, mixed with the sweet aromas of baskets and baskets of ripe apples! There will be apple pie, apple cider, apple strudel, apple jam, apple cider, and the list goes on. Fall just wouldn't be the same without these shiny bundles of crisp sweetness.

Apple style is absorbing the essence of apple as a character, and submerging it into fashion style. Apples by nature are sweet, crisp, playful, beautiful, resilient, and multifunctional.
First start by using the color scheme of  red, green, or yellow, and partner it with a cool crisp, white color.
Keep it simple, and playful, while always remember the simplicity of the apple itself. An apple never tries too hard nor takes itself too seriously. It is effortless, cool, and a bit studious.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Have you been getting your daily dose of an apple?

Fall Daily: 3 Ways to Style Like a Fine Wine

Did you ever wonder why so many people desire the color of  burgundy during Fall and Winter months? What is it about this color and this season, that makes so many people desire it?

Like a glass of fine wine, the color burgundy is visually warm, smooth, and full of character. It exudes a mysterious depth of history, which adds just the right amount of femininity and strength.

Just as one checks the color, smell, and flavor to determine a fine wine, here are my 3 ways to STYLE like a Fine Wine.

1.) Color:
Finding the right "red wine" color for your skin is a learning process. Whether it be oxblood, burgundy, berry toned, or maroon, they are all shades of red wine that match different skin types. Some have a more berry tone, verses others that have a stronger brown undertone. This is also true for lip colors, blushes, and eyeshadows. Don't be quick to assume this color is not for you just because one outfit or lip color did not work. There is a tone of red wine that will work for everyone.

2.) Smell?
When you smell wine before you drink it, there is a bit of mental investigation that takes place. Does it smell sweet, sharp? What are the ingredients?
Similar to this process, when styling outfits with burgundy, you should consider staying true to the character of who you are. Whether your style is sweet, simple, or eclectic, remain true to your style. Harmonize.

3.) Texture:
Always consider the texture in correspondence to color. Personally, I love burgundy on knits, silk, velvet, and leather, because it provides some color variety in the shading of its uneven textures. The light bounces off of certain textures in different ways, creating a much different effect on the same color.

Enjoy!

Fall Daily: How to Pick a Sweater that Snuggles You!

Sweater weather is officially here, and picking the right sweater can be the difference between a good day, and a bad one.
My inspiration is rather simple.
Imagine a cold crisp day, a cup of hot cider, a good book, and the most lusciously warm knit blanket enveloping you in a massively huge hug. That instant moment of utter satisfaction is what I look for in all of my Fall/Winter, sweater ensembles. It is literally fashion that "hugs" you.

Sweater Factors to look for:

1.) Is it comfortable? Don't be lazy try on the sweater, move your arms around, twist and turn. Does it feel good on your skin?

2.) Snuggle factor. Does it feel like a massive hug? I don't know if I am the only one who feels this way about the "snuggliest" sweaters, but they make me instantly want to give myself a little hug.

3.) How warm can you go? On a practical note, it is important to know how cold or warm your climate is. Some knits are made for the coldest temperatures, verses others which can be worn lightly, and provide less warmth.

Fall Daily: Pumpkin Spice Your Fall Style!

Pretty much everything in the U.S is pumpkin spiced right now. You can find it in coffee, toothpaste, cookies, pies, cereal, and chips? Yes, even chips.
With such a love for this seasonal flavor, I am feeling inspired to infuse this delicious flavor into my Fall style. How do I do it?

If you want to dress like pumpkin spice, you have to think like pumpkin spice. First of all, what is it?

Pumpkin spice is a beautiful blend of cloves, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and of course, PUMPKIN. This is the magic combination that fills delightful Fall desserts such as pumpkin pies, and pumpkin spiced lattes. The character notes of these spices are warm, sharp, and spicy.
The "pumpkin" itself is a "whimsical" character, I mean, it did transform into a magical carriage for Cinderella. Therefore, if pumpkin spice were an outfit, it would be, warm, spicy, playful, and sweet.

Give it a try!

Healthy Salmon Dinner

Healthy Salmon Dinner

The above photo is an instagram shot of my dinner tonight. It was delicious!
Basically, last week was a festive food failure, and this week I am getting back on track. No butter, no oil, just healthy organic veggies, fresh salmon, and lots of love. Best of all, it is super easy to make!

All you will need:

-2 servings of fresh salmon
-1 Tomatoe
- 1onion
-3 stalks of celery
-3 carrots
-2 small potatoes
-fresh parsley
-Salt &Pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic

1.Chop veggies; celery, carrots, and onion. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Place in a baking pan or make foil envelopes.

2. Place salmons on top of veggies, and season the salmon with salt, paper and garlic.

3. Slice tomatoes and place on top of salmon. Season with salt, paper, and garlic.

4.Place in the oven at 350 degrees for about 45 min- 1 hr.

5. Boil the potatoes in salt water. Remove skin, season with salt and add freshly chopped parsley.

6. When fish and veggies are finished cooking, take out and garnish with freshly cut parsley.

*TIP* If your veggies look a bit dry feel free to add a bit of water in the baking pan as it continues to cook!

Good Luck.
